This year, the IV Brazilian Congress on the Energy Potential of Microalgae will be in partnership with the RENUWAL Conference , an innovative initiative that will feature speakers from seven countries. This event will be the stage for a great scientific, technological and entrepreneurial interaction.

The RENUWAL Conference (Ibero-American Network for Effluent Treatment with Microalgae, CYTED), has a network of researchers who meet to discuss techniques, recent research, challenges and advances in this area of microalgae, with the participation of specialists, academics, professionals and institutions from different countries. Through this exchange of information, the aim is to boost the development of sustainable and innovative solutions for the treatment of effluents, contributing to the preservation of the environment.

The last editions, held in 2009, 2012, and 2015, featured the participation of renowned researchers on the topic at both national and international levels. This edition, with the central theme “Entrepreneurship and Innovation,” will include various activities to promote research, science, and technology, such as mini-courses and lectures delivered by researchers from Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Portugal, and Spain.

The congress will also feature a poster session of great relevance for the dissemination and sharing of the latest research in the areas of Microalgae Cultivation and Biology, and Biofuel Production. These will be addressed within the thematic axes of Biorefineries, Energy/Biofuels, Circular Economy, Agriculture, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Cultivation, and Wastewater Treatment, all with a focus on sustainability, integrating various industrial sectors.
